Dr. Kitzel Farrah, San Jan Veterinarian with Horse
Dr. Kitzel Farrah, Veterinarian

Kitzel Farrah was raised in Pagosa Springs Colorado and graduated from the Pagosa Springs High School. She attended Colorado State University for both her undergraduate and doctorate. She graduated from CSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. After a brief stint in Arizona, she returned to Pagosa Springs to practice.

Dr. Cara Finstad, Veterinarian

Dr. Cara Finstad grew up on a ranch in a small rural town in central Texas and spent most of her time roping, showing pigs, or playing sports. She attended Texas Tech University following high school and earned a B.S. in Animal Science while on the TTU horse judging team. Dr. Finstad was then accepted into the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2018. She began her career in Ruidoso, NM working next to the racetrack on horses and small animals. Excited for a new environment, she was eager to begin her employment with San Juan Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Finstad enjoys the challenge and variety in caring for any and all animals that walk through the door. When she is not working, she enjoys anything that involves being outdoors including team roping, hiking, skiing, and exploring her new home with her horse, two dogs, and a threelegged cat.

Dr. Morgan Dashner, Veterinarian

Dr. Morgan Dashner graduated with honors from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. She is a San Diego native who moved to Pagosa Springs in 2023 with her now husband and their 3 cats and 2 dogs. She has a small animal focus with a specialty in preventative and internal medicine, quality of life and end of life care, and has a special love for cats. Dr. Morgan takes pride in her ability to communicate clearly and warmly to her clients and practice a fear-free approach with her patients. Outside of her veterinary work, she enjoys camping, hiking, reading, and tending to her backyard chickens.

Amy moved to Pagosa Springs in the summer of 1995. She met her husband Rok Wilson, who is a native to Pagosa Springs, and was married in 1996 and they started a family shortly after. Amy has 2 daughters, Shannel who attends college at Colorado Mesa University, Devin who is a high school student and athlete, and Briggs who is in elementary school.

Shaina was born & raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and moved to Pagosa Springs in 2005. Shaina started working at the San Juan Veterinary Hospital in the spring of 2010 and has also worked at Wolf Creek Ski Area in the ski rental shop since 2005. When she’s not working Shaina enjoys spending time in the mountains with outdoor activities such as hiking with her 2 dogs Finn and Raven, rock climbing and skiing.

Shaun was born and raised in the Denver Metro area and moved to Pagosa Springs with her husband Jeremy in the spring of 2018 to be closer to all of the Colorado outdoor activities they enjoy. A graduate of the Metropolitan State University of Denver, Shaun has a degree in Photojournalism but fell in love with working with animals while managing a dog boarding facility as a student.

Diane Bobbitt, Registered Veterinary Technician

Diane moved to Pagosa Springs from Texas in December of 2019. She worked at Pagosa Springs Humane Society giving all the fur babies looking for forever homes tender loving care. She recently joined our team in August 2020. Diane married Chris Sept 8, 2007 (her wedding was full Camouflage attire!) And they welcomed their son Gage in 2013. Completing their home is 3 fur kids Sookie, Yella, and Code. Diane has many interests including hunting, fishing, exploring the wilderness, and spending time with family and friends.

Sandra Kuhne, Registered Veterinary Technician

Sandra is a certified veterinary technician licensed in the state of Colorado. She earned her Associate of Science degree through Penn Foster College and passed the VTNE (Veterinary Technician National Exam) in 2019. She also has a BA in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Sandra started her career in the veterinary field in 2001, joining San Juan Veterinary Hospital in 2015. She was born and raised in Pagosa Springs and enjoys hiking, camping and just being outdoors. She currently has two dogs (Balto and Francis) and four cats (Sig, Kimber, Onyx, and O’Malley).

Morgan Vanim-Botting, Receptionist
Originally from Philadelphia, Morgan came to Colorado in 2015 to enjoy a quieter life. Her past professional experience is in customer service, call center, and hospitality. She is working on a degree in Psychology and has always been drawn towards mental health. Morgan enjoys art and music, hiking, and yoga, and she is very passionate about animals. Her quiet calm spirit is perfect for our busy scheduling office.

Madyson Drake, Receptionist
Mady is originally from Denver and moved to Pagosa Springs 3 years ago. She moved here for the snow and the beautiful views. After working at Wolf Creek Ski Area for 3 years, she missed being around all the fur babies, so she started working at San Juan Vet Hospital. She loves meeting new people and making sure all her furry friends feel welcome.
